Fishing in Zmudowski State Beach
Fishing in Zmudowski State Beach has earned a section all to itself because it is, quite frankly, a rather popular fishing area. You can catch all sorts of fish here, the most well-known of which are as follows: the steelhead fish, the perch, the salmon, the kingfish, the cabezon, the sole, the lingcod, the flounder, the jacksmelt, the halibut, the tomcod and the rock fish. Whether you're pitching a line or actually going out to boat into deeper waters, you are guaranteed to catch a fish for yourself. You are advised, however, to educate yourselves with the local fishing laws (should you be visitors or simply new to the area). You cannot simply jump into the activity without any prior knowledge. That would get you into trouble. If you're having trouble, remember that Zmudowski State Beach is a government-run beach, and as such, the fishing rules are easily and readily available in nearby stations. You can also try and search for fishing updates online.
Otherwise, you are allowed to go and have as much fun as you can, catching fish from the waters of Zmudowski State Beach. It is advisable that you bring your own fishing gear, however, as sometimes borrowing may throw you off your “game”.
