About Zmudowski State Beach
Zmudowski State Beach is a State Recreation Area sitting just a short distance away from Moss Landing, California. It is approximately twenty miles Northwest of Monterey, off Highway 1, and is the northernmost beach of the area. While it used to be a nice and fairly secluded spot for the “clothing optional” crowd, the fact that it is now run by the state government and that there are residential homes cropping up nearby have forced it to become a regular beach. But the soft, warm sands of this place is still a major factor in attracting visitors from all places. Zmudowski State Beach is also one of those beaches wherein you really don't have to worry about having to wear extra layers because the wind would not be too cold while at the same time, the sun would not be too hot. It is still advisable that you bring such items, though, as the weather does tend to change quite abruptly.
Zmodowski State Beach is very long and wide at a hundred and seventy-seven acres, and very sandy; because of this, it is quite rare to see it crowded with people even in sunny days. It is fairly isolated as well, with large sand dunes that allow as much privacy as one desires. There is no surprise at all that it is a popular place to visit.
